Well, I feel vindicated

I promised Arlie, and everyone else for that matter, that it'd feel like heaven when we finally broke out of our cold snap. And it does. I felt awesome, like it was the first day of spring, so much so that I wouldn't believe it when I saw the temp was only 22. Man, spring is going to be great.

Went to the west side so I could pay a visit to Sears. I've started to appreciate the role that trips off the isthmus play in my life. I get bored at home sometimes, or resent some of the inconveniences that come with downtown living. But after a trip to West Towne Mall, where all the things I hate about American cities come together to go shoe shopping, I can't wait to get home. Parking on the street and close neighbors are a small price to pay to be away from all that business. It feels too easy to pick on malls and housing developments, but I'm a big believer in the spirituality of place, so i don't feel bad about it at all.

It also pleases me to look at the price tags and scoff, "Yeah, right."
